Curse of the First Born

Over the years, Luke has gotten good at dodging falling pianos. Unfortunately, his car hasn’t had the same kind of training. He’s always had a sneaking suspicion the universe is trying to kill him. His family insist falling pianos, random wildlife attacks and freak weather patterns are all totally normal. They happen to everyone. But they’ve been hiding the truth. Luke was right. The universe wants him dead; just like it’s wanted the first born from every generation of his family dead, for the last 200 years.

With his flight to his estranged sister’s wedding cancelled due to one of the aeroplane wings falling off, he convinces his co-worker, who is moving across the country, to drive him to the wedding. It’s in the same direction after all.  A week in a small, filled-to-bursting car with a guy he’s never spoken two words to before that day – what could possibly go wrong?

As the collateral damage from Luke’s curse piles up around them, Luke realises his only choice is to do what his family couldn’t – find a way to break the curse. Or die trying.
